Training Programs

Indo-Swiss Building Energy Efficiency Project (BEEP), National, Dec 2019

At the camp, I discovered the cool world of energy-efficient buildings for the first time. I got to play around with the latest tools and software in AEC industry like DesignBuilder, which let me design buildings that use less electricity. This experience really got me excited about learning how to make buildings more energy-efficient!

ThinkSwiss Reserch Internship, International, Sep-Nov 2021

Guess what? I got picked for this super competitive research internship all the way in Switzerland—my very first trip abroad! At the University of Geneva, I worked on the spatial and temporal aspects of energy retrofitting in commercial buildings. And when I wasn’t working, I had a blast traveling through the beautiful regions of Switzerland!

Siena International School on Sustainable Development, International, Mar-Jun 2022

I had the exciting opportunity to attend an online summer school at the Siena International School focusing on Sustainable Development. The program highlighted the key areas of energy production, agri-food, and industry, and their roles in reducing carbon emissions. One of the highlights for me was discovering Professor Jeffrey Sachs. His lecture on decarbonization was not only informative but also incredibly engaging. I’m now a huge admirer of the way he communicates complex ideas so clearly!

Climate Change AI Summer School, International, Sep 2023

Summer school turns sunny days into opportunities for growth and discovery. I had dived into the world of AI with the Climate Change AI Summer School (Online). It was an amazing journey through the applications of AI in tackling climate challenges. I explored how AI can help in climate science, make our buildings and cities smarter, improve agriculture and land use, protect biodiversity, inform policy and economic decisions, optimize energy systems, revolutionize transportation, and even guide the ethical use of AI in climate action. It was a deep dive into the future of our planet and the role technology will play in preserving it. Wonderful learning experience!

Energy Efficiency Policy in Emerging Economies, National, Dec 2023

In the ‘Energy Efficiency Policy in Emerging Economies’ training program, I was part of the ‘Building’ group. There, I learned about the regulations and policy frameworks for energy-efficient buildings. IEA's experts discussed the challenges and opportunities in India, and how the IEA’s policies could support improvements. As an engineer, this was my first deep dive into the world of policy and regulation, and it was a truly eye-opening experience.

Knowledge2Action Online Academy, International, Jan-Feb, 2024

My experience at the Knowledge2Action (K2A) Online Academy was outstanding. The training focused on Biodiversity, Climate Change, and Waste Management. It included innovative initiatives, thematic lectures by experts from South Asia and Switzerland, and skill sessions like theater, design thinking, and gamification. I thoroughly enjoyed the hands-on learning, which I’ve been able to apply professionally, such as using the design thinking process in my current projects and improving communication with clients. I only wish the training could have been a bit longer to savor more of this valuable experience.

RACHNA: Innovative Construction Technologies & Thermal Comfort in Affordable Housing, National, Dec 2022

During my time with RACHNA training program, organized by MoUHA and GIZ, was a ‘Training for Trainers’ program focused on affordable housing and advancements in thermal comfort in India. It was an enriching experience at CEPT University, especially the visit to the Thermal Comfort and HVAC Testing Lab. One of the highlights was interact with REVA, a specially handcrafted thermal mannequin used for research in thermal comfort.
